How it works

A transparent approach to practical evidence.

The finder helps users understand both what a city did and how much confidence to place in the available public evidence.

Scope

The public beta includes city-led or city-relevant initiatives with a defined health connection and an accessible public source. It is a curated finder, not a systematic review or a complete inventory of urban health action.

Evidence classes

Measured outcomes

The source reports observed changes in health, exposure, behaviour or another defined outcome.

Promising evidence

Available findings indicate beneficial effects, but study design, maturity or transferability limits certainty.

Process evidence

The source primarily documents delivery, reach, participation or an intermediate output.

Theory informed

The intervention has a plausible evidence-informed pathway, but outcome evidence is not yet available.

Verification

Verification is recorded separately from evidence class. “Verified” means the public details have been checked against the cited source. “Partially verified” identifies a record where some claims or classifications still need confirmation.

Limits

Evidence classifications simplify complex studies. City context matters, reported outcomes may not transfer directly, and absence from this beta should never be read as evidence of ineffectiveness.
